Austin makes 600cc Mini Sprint Debut
Austin made his 600cc Mini Sprint debut on the
21st of April in Lebanon,Indiana. Austin wheeled his Mini Sprint
to a first place finish in his very first start. Austin went on
to capture a third place feature finish later on in the evening.
On the 28th of April, Austin made his debut in
Linton, Indiana. Austin set a new qualifying track record and posted 1st place
finishes in both his heat and feature races.
On the 5th of May, Austin traveled back to Linton, Indiana. Austin
shattered his own track record. Austin went on to sweep the night
once again and posted 1st place finishes in both his heat and feature
races.
Austin Wins Lebanon
On the 12th of May Austin captured his first feature
win in only his second start at Lebanon, Indiana.
Austin came from the 10th place starting
position of the18 car field.

first feature win on the 3/8 mile track. It was Austin's 19th win overall for
the season. Austin has now won on three different tracks throughout Indiana. |

August in
Lebannon, Indiana. Austin now has 26 over all wins since making
his debut on the dirt and in his Mini Sprint. |

Austin
Woodham traveled to Pittsfield, Illinois on the 2nd and
3rd of
September for the 7th Annual Pike County Nationals. Austin
finished 2nd in
the preliminary's to secure a third place staring spot
for the finals in
which were held on the 3rd. Austin took took the lead on
lap 9 of the finals
and pulled away to a full straight away lead before capturing
the National
Title. It was Austin's first National Title since moving
up this year into
the 600cc Mini Sprints. It was Austin's 6th National Championship
of his 6
year racing career. Austin now stands at 11 feature wins
for the season
with 28 overall victory's.

on the 9th of September, at the US 24 Speedway. Austin matched
the
single car record of 12 feature wins with his latest victory. Austin captured
the Concept Chassis "Rookie" record for the most feature wins in a
single season earlier this year. Austin's 12 feature wins and 31 over all victory's
have been scored on 4 different tracks to include: Bakersfield Speedway, Northtrack
Raceway, US 24 and Pike County Speedways. Just 5 races remain to conclude the

Woodham scored his 13th feature win of the season this past
Friday
night in Lebanon, Indiana. Austin swept the night winning
all his events
and landed himself into the Concept Chassis record books.
Austin became the first driver in the history of Concept
Chassis to reach 13 feature wins in a
single season, driving a single car. Earlier this year, Austin
recorded
the most feature wins by a "Rookie", in a single
season. Austin broke the "Rookie" record in the
first month of making his debut in his Mini Sprint
this year. Austin now stands at 35 total wins on the year
with just three
races remaining. |

was presented the "Outstanding Rookie Award" from
Northtrack Raceway Park at Lebanon, Indiana on the 12th of
November. Austin scored a record high 8 feature wins out of
the 16 events he attended at the Lebanon track. Austin rounded
out the 16 events to add 4 top 3 finishes, 3 top 5 finishes and 1 top 10 finish. Austin also compiled 11 heat
race wins and 4
trophy dash wins in route to being crowned Northtrack Raceway
Parks "Outstanding Rookie" for 2006. Austin's 8 feature
wins at the Lebanon track this season set new record's for
both Rookie wins and feature wins, for a single season. |

was recently crowned Concept Chassis 2006 "Rookie of the
Year". Austin's over all record of 13 feature wins, 16
heat race wins and 6 trophy dash wins for the season, propelled
him for the honor. Austin's 13 feature wins this year was a
new single class record for Concept Chassis.
Austin also captured the record for the most feature wins by
a Rookie in a single season.
"It was an honor to receive this award from Rodney
Stealy, owner and builder of the Concept Chassis," Austin
explained. "Rodney was a big part of my success this
year and really put's a lot of heart and soul into what
he does," Austin noted. |
